Alan's Work Is Perfection!

Alan just finished hemming two shower curtains for us....the work was absolutely perfect and done in such a timely manner. His customer service is wonderful.. and you can definitely tell he loves what he does. Thank you, Alan for being a great tailor AND person!!

I have been really satisfied with Alan's work and the time and pricing of the jobs! In NYC I am surrounded by tailors but I will continue to turn to Alan for all of my alterations and repairs!  I am from Bardstown but am currently am living in New York. When I came home for the summer, I brought him a few of my garments that needed repairs. They were designer clothing and very delicate materials. Alan did a fantastic job on the repairs and in a very timely state! His personality is welcoming and confident and the experience was so wonderful that throughout the next season, I saved all of my repairs for him, knowing that I would return home to Bardstown for Christmas. On my second visit, Alan did a great job repairing a blown out shoulder on my leather blazer!

Heavy-Duty Repairs for New Haven Fire Department

Our fire department had several sets of protective coats and pants that had broken threads and other minor repairs. Alan ordered the required special fire resistant thread and velcro, made the necessary repairs, and did so very economically. His workmanship was equal or better than the original manufacturer, a national corporation. We highly reccommend him.

My Tailor Gives Me New Life

Shoe Alteration

​Perfect alterations on a pair of Vionics house shoes. They were too difficult to slip on because of extreme edema, but a few snips later and some velcro strips and Voila, a happy camper! Thanks Alan! Plans to send two more pairs your way, very soon!

I have worked in the fashion industry for 8 years and have travelled and attended fashion weeks from Paris, Milan, Tokyo, New York and to Sydney. Having found Alan's work to be of such precision I have purposely held off paying exorbitant prices that I have never been happy with in New York where I currently reside to my trips to Bardstown where my partner's family lives.

Bridesmaid Dress and Suit Alterations

I really needed to get my bridesmaid dress altered. I was so frustrated that I was almost ready to put it up for consignment and just find a new dress. But I thought I would see what a professional thought about it, so I did a quick Google search and found Alan the Tailor! I texted him a picture of what the dress was supposed to look like and made an appointment. Well, I tell you he SAVED that dress. He also tailored my husband's suit and he looks AMAZING. Both of us are so pleased and both articles of clothing look so much more expensive. It really is amazing what good tailoring can do for an outfit. Thanks, Alan!

Suit Alterations

I needed some tailoring done & was pleased to find Alan was nearby. His reviews were good &, being a bow tie wearer myself, I was impressed by the photo of Alan in his.  This was enough for me to contact him to get my work done & imagine my surprise when I arrived at his place to be greeted by a smiling, barefoot, elf-like tailor. His friendliness was appealing & he was very happy to show me his workshop & all his machines, irons, surgers etc.

But to the substance of my review; his workmanship was excellent & he had my alterations done in short order. The real surprise was how reasonable were his prices. 

And to top it off,  I am always impressed by someone who not only knows what the word "bespoke" means, but who uses it!

In short, I recommend Alan & his work highly & regard his presence in Bardstown as a great addition to our community.

Custom Chair Cushions

Alan the Tailor created some beautiful seat cushions using fabric that I had found, He completed the job on time and his rates were quite reasonable. I could never have done such a fine job on my own-it pays to hire a professional!!

I needed several dresses hemmed asap. I didn't know anyone in Bardstown, Ky that did alterations, so I googled it and found Alan and I am so happy that I called him! I expected the dresses to be ready in 4 or 5 days, but he called me that night to let me know they were ready... not only was he quick, but the quality of his work was top notch! Alan will get all of my business and I will definitely recommend him to everyone I know...

Measurements for Tux Rental

I needed a tailor while I was in KY on business. I needed to have measurements taken to rent a suit for an upcoming wedding. I found Alan via Google search. Right away, he told me to come to his place of business. Once I arrived, he provided me with very prompt and professional service in taking my measurements. Clothing Repair and Pant-Seam Alteration

I feel so fortunate to have found a competent person to repair and alter my clothes! As a petite person, some 'normal' womens clothing doesn't fit me the way I'd like (such as pants being too long). I'm always wanting to fix this or that about my clothes and I don't have the skill to do it. Alan did a great job altering three items of my clothes and fixing another more complicated blouse. I'm so pleased! I highly recommend Alan and am glad I trusted him with some of my favorite items of clothing.
